The Dower House
Residents: Matt Crawford and Lilian
Bellamy
Ralph Bellamy purchased this house in
1970. He and wife Lilian lived there until
they moved to Guernsey in 1975, after which
it was let to a variety of tenants including
Arnold Lucas.
In 1990 Lilian sold the house as part of
the Berrow Estate to Cameron Fraser, who in
turn sold it to Guy Pemberton in 1992. Guy
had to spend a lot of money to restore the
house to its former glory.
Guy’s wife Caroline inherited the house
on her husband’s death and lived there until
she moved to Grange Farm to live with Oliver
Stirling in 2003.
In 1999 Caroline converted part of the
house into a self contained flat for her
godson William Grundy following his family's
eviction from Grange Farm, who resided there
until his marriage to Emma Carter in 2004.
After a succession of short term lets,
the house was bought by Matt Crawford in
2006 so that his amour Lilian could return
the home in which she had previously been so
happy. |
